Beth Buckingham Notes to the NICU

Beth Buckingham

As a mother of 2 premature daughters, Beth knows how it feels to be disoriented in the NICU! After spending a week antepartum in the hospital, her oldest daughter, now in her 30s, was unexpectedly born at 26 weeks.

Her daughter's Level III NICU stay lasted 10 weeks with her being discharged home on oxygen and heart/lung monitors. Beth knows she was "one of those moms" the NICU staff look forward to saying goodbye to!

Her second daughter, born at 35 weeks stayed only a week in a Level II NICU. When born, Beth remembered saying, “That’s the biggest baby ever” right before they swooped her away for “observation.”

Before having children, Beth's career included a short stint as a NICU nurse. She felt drawn to working with NICU families and got her master's degree in marriage and family therapy and then a doctorate in psychology.

Today, part of Beth's job includes the privileged role of NICU psychologist working in a Level III NICU. One of her spiritual purposes is to “pay it forward” walking with families during their unique NICU journey.

Her passion includes working clinically with all families and the staff in our NICU, researching to improve psychological outcomes for both families and their babies, and staff educational programming.

In addition, she recently has become a published author on the new diagnostic term, "NICU Blues" for mothers and fathers.

Jenn Martin Notes to the NICU

Jennifer martin

Jen has been married for 16 years to the love of her life. Together they have 3 boys.

Jen's NICU journey lasted 111 days with her youngest sons; twins born at 24 weeks and one son passing after 19 days in the NICU.

Because of her unique experience of losing one child in the NICU and one surviving, Jen desires to offer hope and healing to all families going through the unthinkable.

She is always looking for ways to grow deep roots towards self-love and personal development either through journaling, sketching, or story writing.

Jen has over 20 years of experience as a stylist and has been taught by some of the most talented educators and mentors in the industry. She currently works as an educator in both the cosmetology school and salon setting to offer specialized training in custom cuts, extensions, and balayage.

When she's not crafting things poorly from inspiration on TikTok or Pinterest, she loves to travel and explore. Her favorite destinations include New York, Chicago, and the Florida panhandle.

Jen loves movies, board games, and any event that involves lots of yummy snacks!

Sarah Pulley notes to the NICU

Sarah Pulley

Sarah and her husband Adam had their daughter Amelia at 27 weeks gestation in 2018. At birth, Amelia was only 1 pound 11 oz. Despite her size, she easily changed their whole world.

Their NICU journey extended across 125 long days. Filled with highs, lows, and never-ending dread, Sarah and Adam relied on each other, their families, and the NICU staff through it all.

After they were able to take Amelia home, Sarah and Adam decided their goal was to give back to the NICU that saved their daughter and somehow provide support for other families during their unique time.

Their foundation "Amelia's Miles" provides ...... ???

Adam and Sarah now have two children, Amelia and Joey, who love to go camping and be outside.

Sarah owns Three Seventeen Hair Salon in Carmel and works part-time behind the chair where she maintains lifelong friendships with her clients.

When she is not busy with all of her endeavors, she truly enjoys just being home and hanging with her kiddos, dogs, and husband.

She loves Jesus and has a new cake-decorating hobby too!
